Behaviors and Deviation

> JET ENGINE GASES FLOW BEHAVIOUR

Jet blast gases deviation with deflector of 4,26 m high on operating position (position 1).

Result of INTA (Spanish National Institute of Aeronautical Tecniques) test according document AB/RPT/4420/121/INTA/06
  • The fence deflects the jet blast upwards with an angle of 85,8° in the position 1 (normal working position) and 45,2° in the position 2 (inverted working position) approximately.
  • Stream lines go out horizontally from exhaustion gas generator nozzle, these ones turn upwards after crossing the fence due to the arrangement of the slats of the deflector mesh. This effect is independent of the size of the mesh cell.
  • No appreciable variations in the fence effectiveness
are produced when the jet blast speed is increased.
  • Up to 90% speed reduction of the deflected jet blast
    respect to the incident one.
  • The jet blast’s speed is a 20% lower in the upper part of the fence regard that of bottom part.
